Native Petaluman Jonny Gomes isn’t the only MLB player to get behind the Petaluma National all-stars. Giants pitcher Matt Cain said he is planning to phone the Little Leaguers today to deliver a pep talk before the U.S. championship game against Goodlettsville, Tenn. If Bradley Smith throws a perfect game against Tennessee today, well, you’ll know whence the inspiration came.
